God is love! In love, He came down from Heaven to die for sinners, of whom I am chief. He came for the singular and sole purpose of dying and shedding His precious blood to cleanse us of our sins. “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us…” (1 John 3:16). The blood of Jesus Christ His (God’s) Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). God laid down His life for us. He willingly and voluntarily laid down His life for sinners. A person’s moral or religious works does not clean or atone (cover) his or her sins. Only the priceless and sinless blood of God has the potency to effect salvation!
Salvation is received as a gift or not at all! It the ultimate favour extended by the God of love to sinners. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8&9). Grace means undeserved favour. We cannot earn Heaven! The moral sins we do, or not do, do not prevent us from entering Heaven or quality us for Heaven, respectively. Belief/unbelief is the deciding factor. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36). “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).
The other deities worshipped on earth today do not have power to save a lost soul! In fact, they are an affront to the God of the Bible and their worship constitute idolatry. “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3). The Lord Jesus declares that He is the only way to Heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). No salvation exists outside the name of the Lord Jesus! Acts 4:12 states: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5). Repentance is change of mind, a change of belief. Will you today turn from your wrong beliefs to the believe the Bible, all of it, and receive and trust Christ as your personal Saviour? Will you today come to Christ acknowledging before Him in prayer that you are a sinner and that only His precious cleansing blood can save you? Will you come to the Lord Jesus today acknowledging that false gods can neither save you nor their worshippers? Will you come today trusting in Christ and Christ alone and His redemption work which he fully accomplished on the cross? I, with love, encourage you to do so.
