The title are the words of Carol Dodge in Court (YouTube, East Idaho News, June 8, 2021). Yes, he does deserve eternal Hell, but not uniquely so. Did you know that I deserve eternal Hell? I deserve to burn nice and hot for eternity. Do you not know that the Pope deserves eternal Hell? Do you realize that you too deserve eternal Hell? Everyone on this earth deserves eternal Hell. All sinners deserve eternal Hell. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
It is good justice that he is imprisoned for his vile and murderous crime. Our heartfelt and sincerest condolences to you for the loss of your precious Angie. You seem to be a lovely lady and I would treasure meeting you if I were given the opportunity!
The reason Carol’s statement is problematic is that it directly implies that only murderers deserve Hell. It also speaks of her desire for, and condemnation to, Hell for this man, especially with her unforgiving heart. “I can’t forgive you, ever… I’ll never forgive you” (Carol Dodge). “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). People escape God’s Hell simply for believing Him taking Him at His Word. Not committing murder, or any other moral sin for that matter, does not qualify us for, or defaults us to, Heaven.
The vast majority of the planet do not, and will not, believe the Bible. The Holy Bible is daily mocked and denied and rejected, and the God of it blasphemed by the second! One example, billions believe the silly fairy tale theory of evolution instead of God’s mind-blowing miraculous act of creation as documented in great and scientific detail in Genesis. No other so called holy book and their gods on the earth know this! As painful as it may be for us, the greatest crime or sin done against us by a fellow sinner is infinitely less than the least evil we commit against the one and only true God, the God of Israel, the Lord Jesus!
Those who know God do not wish Hell on another. Why? God Himself do not desire Hell for even the vilest of sinners. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Moreover, those who know God, know that they are required to forgive fellow sinners for they themselves were forgiven by the sinless pristine Christ. Luke 11:4, “And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us…”
Dear Carol, believe on the Lord Jesus, believing His Word all of it, and receive Him as your personal Saviour, least you enter the very place you proclaim upon your enemy. “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you…” (Matthew 5:44).
Theologically you are off a bit pastor; Jesus stated judge and you will be judged.
Jesus call men to turn from their sin and often told them to go and sin no more... He even stated whoever sins is it's servant and that if you abide in his doctrines you will be free indeed from sin...
As a follower of Jesus you should be careful to not misrepresent him of admit you're not his follower.
Peace
